My name is Carole and I am the owner of Carole’s Creations. I came by my love for sewing naturally from my Mother. When my sister and I were small, our Mother would make us mother/daughter dresses. When I was 12, I completed my first sewing project, a madras jacket. After that I was hooked. I took every Home Economics class I could through school where I learned more about sewing and started learning to cook. I quickly discovered that I could make my own clothes for a fraction of the cost of retail. My first job at 16 was working in a store that had a fabric department and yes, most of my paycheck when toward fabric.
I was lucky enough to have two children, a boy and a girl. These two gave me more sewing opportunities to make clothing as they grew up. Over the years I would enter some of their clothes in the Oklahoma State Fair sewing contests. I came home with three first places ribbons, three second place and one third and even won a new sewing machine and an overlock machine. These machines allowed me to take my sewing to the next level. During the summer months I would make extra money sewing the cheerleader uniforms for the local high schools.
As the years passed, we moved to Florida and I came to appreciate cooking and developing recipes. I was blessed with children and a husband who would try eating anything which made them the perfect food tasters for my recipes and now our grandson wants to be a Chef. You can really save a lot of money by eating at home and strengthen the family bond by having them help with the meal preparation and clean up.
I have found that over the years restaurant food has become more spicy and I am allergic to any ingredients that give off heat, even black pepper. I had to come up with recipes that were flavorful without delivering heat. I have so many different recipes that I just had to share them with others. The best way for me to do this was to start Carole’s Creations.
Every recipe has a section called CCHints which are Carole’s Creations Hints which may be cooking tips, where to buy ingredients or substitutions and more.
Cooking and crafts are my life’s loves and I so enjoy sharing them with others. All the sewing and crafts projects on Carole’s Creations are made by me in Orlando. There are only a few items listed because I want to be able to make them with pride and deliver them in a timely manner.
